Hospitals & Clinics: MLVC
Country Of Origin: UK
University Graduated: Liverpool, UK

Mark was brought up in the UK by a strong willed Welsh Border Collie, a black and white tom cat and two human parents all of whom encouraged him to take the path to being a veterinarian.

He began work as a vet in 1981 in Cornwall in the UK, seeing pets, farm animals and horses. After 5 years in Cornwall, followed by a year in Brighton specialising in Greyhound injuries, Mark moved overseas in 1987, to Saudi Arabia.

A succession of opportunities through the 90's led Mark to take veterinary posts in the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, South East Asia and the Fiji Islands.
The jobs focused increasingly on pets and horses.
Around 2000 Mark returned to the UK and set up three veterinary practices, becoming a practice owner. The business runs very successfully under the leadership of his manager and friend Leda Dunn, employing 5 veterinarians allowing Mark to semi retire. But retirement is dull, so missing the daily routines as a vet, Mark came to Hong Kong, to work at the Mid Levels Veterinary Centre in 2012. Mark has found the medical and surgical challenges stimulating and Hong Kong to be tremendous fun and he has settled in.

Over the years Mark has lived with numerous dogs, cats, horses and two parrots. Pepper the collie, Bosun the boxer, Rocky the cockatoo and Rufus the persian cat have been particularly close.
