AMC Team
The AMC employs over 15 fully qualified and licensed veterinarians from around the globe. We currently have vets from Australia, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, UK and Germany. We also employ several Philippine veterinarians as veterinary technicians, responsible for intensive care and surgical monitoring. Each of our branches is managed by a very capable and experienced manager each with a team of local veterinary assistants.


Martin Stiensmeier, DVM CVA(IVAS)

University Graduated: Parma, Italy

Martin graduated in Parma, Italy in 1994, his doctoral thesis was on 'Laser-acupuncture in horses'.

His interest in other parts of the world led him to Veterinaires sans Frontieres. With this non-governmental organization he worked on a rural development project in Cambodia.

After getting married, Martin spent one year in the UK, working in Wales and with the RSPCA in London. In 1997 he returned to Asia and started work in Hong Kong.

In 2002 Martin completed a two year course in veterinary acupuncture with the IVAA (International Veterinary Acupuncture Association) in Australia. The same year he moved back to Europe to work in France and Germany for 2 years.

In 2004 Martin returned to Hong Kong working for the AMC in Ma On Shan, where his sons went to school.

Over the last 15 years Martin has treated numerous dogs and cats with acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.

His time off is spent with family and friends, hiking and photography on good days, books and music on rainy ones.

Andrew Baker, BVMS MRCVS

Andrew graduated in 1988 and then worked for 2 years in mixed practice in Scotland before working as a locum vet in New Zealand and Australia for a year each.
He came to HK in June 1992 and worked as a locum for a year before settling in Wanchai.
He founded the Mid Levels Veterinary Centre in June 1997 and expanded the business to become the Animal Medical Centre, over the following years.

Belle Goh, BSc, BVMS, PGCert, MVS

University Graduated: Murdoch, Australia.

Belle is a Malaysian Chinese who spent most of her growing years in beautiful Singapore. Her love for animals developed at a very tender age, Belle used to “kidnap” stray or injured animals to her home and take care of them, be it cats, dogs, lizards or goats.... basically whichever injured four-legged animal that crossed her path would be taken to her home, for care.

With her fascination with medical science and love for animals she decided to move to Western Australia to study Veterinary Science. Belle graduated in 2009 with a double degree and started practising in Hong Kong shortly after.

She completed a Masters in Small Animal Practice in September 2014.

When she is not working in the clinic, Belle likes to keep busy with salsa dancing, yoga, cooking and just relaxing in front of the television.

YunSun Hong, BVSc (Hons)

Dr Yun Sun Hong graduated from the University of Sydney in 2007 with honors.

She practiced in Sydney for 5 years in a small animal clinic before coming to Hong Kong.

She joined our AMC team in 2013, working in our Mong Kok and Fanling branches.

Her main interests in veterinary medicine? The lot! From internal medicine and surgery to dentistry... She is interested in anything that can help your beloved pet!
She will love and look after your pet as her own.

There is nothing more important to her than to make sure the animals under her care get healthy and happy again.

She lives with her chinchilla x scottish fold cat, named Lanjai, in the New Territories.

Outside of work, she loves to read novels, and loves to travel the world, whenever she gets the chance.

Ann-si Li, DVM OMD

University Graduated: University of California at Davis

Born in Berkeley, California, Dr. Li
is a graduate of the University of California at Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine.

After owning and operating her own veterinary clinic in California, she was a United Nations Volunteer (UNV) in Beijing before coming to Hong Kong.

Her specialty is Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and Acupuncture. She is Certified in Acupuncture by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS).

David Yang, BVM MVetSci

University Graduated: National Taiwan University, Taiwan.

David was born in Taiwan and graduated from the National Taiwan University in 2006.

When he was a student, David was very interested in veterinary cardiology. He spent lots of time acquiring knowledge and sharpening his clinical skills with veterinary cardiologists in Taiwan.

He then pursued his Master’s degree of Veterinary Medicine in the University of Edinburgh from 2008 to 2010.

He also spent several months doing clinical work in the cardiopulmonary department of the hospital for small animals at the University of Edinburgh.

After graduating from the University of Edinburgh, David chose to work in Hong Kong.

Now he is a member of the European Society of Veterinary Cardiology.

Before joining the AMC, David worked for several different private veterinary clinics in Hong Kong.

Apart from cardiology, he also developed an interest in diagnostic imaging, He went to many seminars and conferences to learn and practice abdominal ultrasound.

David's main responsibility now is taking care of the hospital patients, performing abdominal ultrasound and echocardiography.

To recover from the heavy pressure of clinical work, he likes to go travelling during his leisure time.

Simon Cheung, Dr.

University Graduated: Sydney, Australia

Simon was born and raised in Hong Kong.

He spent a few years studying high school in England before completing his veterinary degree at the University of Sydney in 2015.

During his time in Australia, he took a few years off study and worked full time as a veterinary nurse in various clinics across Sydney.

After graduation, Simon decided to return home to pursue his career helping animals in Hong Kong. He is interested in both soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries.

Outside of work, Simon enjoys cooking, going to the beaches and travelling. He is also a big fan of football.

Kelvin Wu, DVM

University Graduated: National Chung Hsing, Taiwan

Dr. Kelvin WU graduated from the National Chung Hsing University in 2014.

After finishing the Senior Professional and Technical Examinations for veterinarians in Taiwan, he spent a year working in a small animal general practice there.

He came back to Hong Kong and worked as an intern in PAVC for a year in order to fulfill the requirement for registration with the HKVSB.

After completing registration, he started his work in the AMC.

Since graduating Dr. Kelvin attended FASAVA conferences in 2014 and 2019 which helped him to acquire the latest medical treatments and surgical techniques from veterinary specialists. He has also completed a soft tissue surgery course held by ESAVS and ultrasound courses approved by AAVSB.

Kelvin is committed to keeping up to date with the most recent medical and surgical developments so that he can keep providing excellent medical services to his patients.

In his leisure time he enjoys hiking, travelling, spending time with family and also interacting with his cat Meow Meow.

Adrian Chan, BVMS MRCVS

University Graduated: Edinburgh, UK.

After graduating from Edinburgh. Adrian spent some time working in a referral hospital in Manchester and as a sole consulting veterinary surgeon, his involvement in the many complex cases that came his way gave him invaluable experience and knowledge at an early stage in his career.

Upon relocating back to Hong Kong, Adrian had the great fortune to be offered a position at the SPCA that not only offered private pet care but excellent community programmes.

He started working at the AMC over two years ago.

Adrian has also been lucky enough to study acupuncture for animals in Beijing and Taiwan. In the future, he is hoping to further explore animal care that combines Traditional Chinese methods and Western medicine.

Adrian has a strong interest in internal medicine and TCVM.

Adrian enjoys keeping fit by going to the gym but also making use of Hong Kong's many outlying islands, beaches and extensive hiking trails. When there's any other free time, he likes exploring the many neighbourhoods that are perfect locations to hone his amateur photography skills.

Richard Potter, Dr.

Country Of Origin: Australia

Richard graduated in the last century and after many years of intensive small animal practice, in Melbourne and Sydney, including several years of emergency medicine and critical care, he moved into farm animal practice, which included birds, exotic animals and artificial reproduction.

Richard has lived in Hong Kong for 15 years, has a
Cantonese wife and is presently owned by several dogs including
Dachshunds and a Poodle.

His interests include yacht construction and ocean sailing.

Special professional interests for the past fifty years have been orthopaedic and other surgery.
